PARTNER/GROUP PRE-CONFERENCE TOUR

Kennedy Space Station

Kennedy Space Center

9:00 am – 5:00 pm • Kennedy Space Center ($99.00 per person)

Kennedy Space Center is the birthplace of the American space program and the only place on earth where men were launched into space and set foot on the moon. Buses will pick you up in front of the Hilton Lobby for an unforgettable trip to one of America’s most inspiring historical landmarks, located in the heart of a 140,000-acre national wildlife refuge. At the Visitor Complex amazing exhibits such as the Space Shuttle and inspiring shows will immerse you into the past, the present and the future of the space program. Buses will take you to the 4-story LC-39 Observation Gantry with a panoramic view of the Space Center. A short orientation film and interactive displays will demonstrate how the launch pads are constructed and how a Shuttle is launched.

The buses will then drive by the monstrous Vehicle Assembly Building where the Shuttle is prepared for launch and where the Saturn V rockets were once assembled. You will continue past the Orbiter Processing Facility and be dropped off at the Apollo/Saturn V Center. This part of the tour is a tribute to the Apollo astronauts and the equipment that got them there- and brought them home safely. Dramatic multi-media shows and numerous hands-on displays will provide an exhilarating experience and a fascinating insight into both American and international space explorations. Walk around and admire the enormous 363 foot Saturn V rocket and try to imagine the engineering effort it represents and the power it took to accelerate such a huge object into space. The final stop is at the International Space Station Center.

This tour is a must if you have not done it before.
